GEMS
Golf Event Management System
Home      FAQ

GEMS is an acronym for Golf Event Management System.  The primary purpose of GEMS is to produce scorecards for golf events.  Each scorecard includes hole  information for the course being played including length, par and handicap for each hole from each tee box.  The scorecard also includes player names for the foursome, handicap for each player and appropriate dots on each hole for each player.

To accomplish its primary purpose GEMS includes tools for selection of players for an event, assignment of players to teams with a variety of team selection plans, generation of player handicaps from golfer indexes and assignment of tee times and tee box for each foursome.

Once foursomes are created with tee times assigned it is also possible to print a Player Pairings report in addition to the scorecards.

Who Can Use GEMS?

GEMS can be used by anyone who creates or manages golf events for their golf club or for any ad hoc group of players from the club.  It does not replace the tools commonly available to Golf Club management.  GEMS offers similar services for use by members of a club to supplement what is offered by Golf Club management.

GEMS may be used for organized club events or for ad hoc events (eg. weekly events organized by club members) with no involvement required by Golf Club management.
